VINABOX AUSTRALIA

Which Coravin model should you buy in Australia?

Vinabox Australia

Start with still or sparkling wine, then the closure and the time you want to keep the bottle. The more expensive kit is not automatically the better fit.

Timeless Three+ and Six+: compare the kit

Both use a needle-and-argon method for still wine with suitable closures. A different finish and larger accessory bundle do not establish better preservation in your bottle.

Australian package contents shown by Coravin on the check date
Included item Timeless Three+ Timeless Six+
Argon capsules 2 3
Standard screwcap adapters 2 6
Aerator Yes Yes
Carry case Not listed in this kit Yes
Bottle sleeve and clearing tool Listed Listed

Three+ is worth considering if its listed accessories cover your needs. For Six+, price the extra accessories you would actually use before deciding that the larger bundle is worthwhile. Check the current listing rather than assuming Jeremy's earlier French purchase had the same contents.

Pivot+: when you remove the closure first

Pivot+ uses a dedicated stopper after the original cork or cap has been removed. It may be a more relevant comparison when you use several original closure types and want short-term flexibility. The manufacturer's stated preservation period is up to four weeks; actual results depend on correct use and storage.

The checked Australian kit lists two Pivot Stoppers, two argon capsules, an aerator and a sleeve. It is for still wine. Pivot is not a lower-priced way to preserve a pressurised sparkling bottle.

Sparkling: a separate purchase decision

Sparkling uses CO2 and a dedicated closure for suitable sparkling bottles. The checked kit lists a charger, one Sparkling Stopper, two CO2 capsules and a sleeve. Do not confuse its capsules or stopper with Timeless or Pivot accessories.

Use it only with compatible sparkling-wine bottles and follow the instructions. Never charge a still-wine bottle with the Sparkling system. The bottle must be suitable for the pressure.

Which one suits your bottles?

  • Mostly suitable natural-cork still wines, with longer storage in mind: compare Timeless Three+ and Six+.
  • Mostly screwcaps: compare the adapters you would need with the Pivot approach before choosing.
  • Opened still wines you want to keep over a shorter period: consider Pivot+ alongside a simple reseal-and-refrigerate routine.
  • Sparkling wine: evaluate the dedicated Sparkling system separately.
  • A working existing system: check consumable and accessory needs before replacing the device.

Allow for ongoing capsules, cleaning and storage. No device guarantees financial savings, and preservation is not a reason to buy or drink more wine. Start with the main Coravin guide if the family names are still unclear.
