Coravin is sold through an Australian store. Choose a system for the wine and closure you actually use, then check the cost of the device and consumables.

Three families, three different jobs
| Family | How it accesses the bottle | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Timeless | A needle passes through a suitable natural cork while argon replaces the wine poured | For still wine. Screwcaps require the compatible Timeless adapter. Do not assume a synthetic closure reseals like natural cork. |
| Pivot+ | The original closure is removed and replaced with a Pivot Stopper | For still wine with different original closure types. The stopper, bottle and device must fit properly. |
| Sparkling | A dedicated stopper and CO2 charger work on an opened sparkling-wine bottle | For suitable sparkling bottles only. It is a separate system, not a Timeless accessory. |
What the preservation claims mean
Coravin describes Timeless as suitable for keeping wine over extended periods when used correctly with an appropriate closure. For Pivot, the manufacturer states up to four weeks. Its Australian Sparkling information also refers to a period of weeks. These are manufacturer claims, not a guaranteed result for every wine or a Vinabox Australian test.
Bottle condition, closure, technique and storage affect the outcome. A device does not undo oxidation that has already happened, repair a poor cork or protect wine left in a hot room. Start with sound storage conditions.
Why screwcaps matter in Australia
If most of your bottles have screwcaps, include the required adapters or Pivot Stoppers in your decision. Timeless does not pass through a metal screwcap. Changing to a compatible adapter means the original cap has to be removed first, so this is a different situation from accessing an unopened natural-cork bottle.
For a wine you expect to keep only briefly, a good closure and refrigeration may meet your needs. If you want more flexibility, compare that simple option with the device, accessories, maintenance and capsule cost.
Where to buy and what to compare
The official Australian buying guide lists local systems and AUD prices. Our model comparison records specific prices checked on 20 October 2026. Check the chosen finish, bundle, stock, final delivered total and Australian support terms with the seller.
A lower system price is not the whole cost. Add the capsules and accessories you actually need. No payback or saving is promised: that depends on wine you would otherwise discard and how you use the equipment.
Use the model-specific instructions
Use only the specified gas, closure and accessories. Do not interchange argon and Sparkling CO2 capsules. Do not use the Sparkling system on a still-wine bottle: it is not designed for that pressure. Do not use a needle-based still-wine system on a sparkling bottle.
Inspect the bottle, use the specified protective sleeve and follow the current manufacturer instructions. If a bottle is damaged or the equipment does not fit as instructed, stop and consult the manufacturer.
About the French Vinabox tests
The source Vinabox material includes Jeremy's experience with a Timeless Six+ in France. That experience does not verify an Australian retail package, local price, warranty process or a preservation result for your wine. Read our editorial policy for that distinction.
